tl;dr: if you had a paid subscription before i paused paid subscription, this is your chance to cancel/end your subscription.
i will be turning on paid subscriptions ONE WEEK FROM TODAY so that readers have access to the content behind my paywall. i do not expect you to pay monthly, since i am no longer turning out weekly content.
however, happy to receive your monthly subscription if you still want to support!
if you have thoughts, please feel free to comment or message me!
A BIT OF HOUSEKEEPING!
as you are well aware, this newsletter is free. i haven’t had paid subscriptions for quite some time. honestly, the expectation to churn out weekly content became a burden— it no longer became about the sobriety journey itself, but instead about making sure i was measuring up to a paid expectation.
so i paused, happily! i am so thankful to all of my subscribers, paid and free. but i want to take a second to thank those of you who sustained this newsletter financially. thank you for teaching me about the paid subscription model, and for supporting my work. it helped me get through my first year of sobriety, and i am honored you believed in this project enough to support it financially.
the way things roll now
all of my newsletters are free for the first two weeks after they are published. you have two weeks to read them after they hit your mailbox.
after the first two weeks, they are archived behind a paywall.
folks who want to read the archive, but can’t because paid subscriptions are paused.
the rub: i have to turn on paid subscriptions in order for folks to access the content behind the pay wall.
IN SHORT:
paid subscriptions are being turned on, if only to allow readers to have access to the paywall. you are welcome to end your subscription since i no longer churn out weekly content. but if you want to continue to support newly sober with a monthly or yearly contribution, i am lowering the monthly payment so you can do that. your financial contribution will help me move across the country and continue to create content for free.
all in all, i love you no matter what you decide. i trust you to decide what is right for you. i thank you for your support thus far, even if it is just reading my words.
i pray you have a safe, sane, and sober fourth of july.
here’s last year’s guide to staying sober on the fourth.
It is a pleasure and honor to continue subscribing to newly sober. I’m happy to support you regardless of how much content you post. 🤍
